Whether one is a believer or sceptic, all the discussion about global warming, climate change, ETS are nothing more than just talk fests, trying to prevent or slow down further deterioration of the climatic conditions.

In concurrence to all these debates and discussions, researches on global cooling should be funded to help reverse the trend. We must think outside the square, and release the trapped warm air to higher layers of the atmosphere, or improve air exchanges. Greedy opportunists and hoaxers on climate change are no different from the Y2K vultures, making millions and billions on human fallacy and frailty. Why pay other countries to grow trees, to green the earth, while we, the hypocrites keep polluting the environment? It is too much to ask the candidates to tackle big issues; the only big issue they all have in common is to the win the election by saying things that the voters like to hear. Unfortunately, they have no concept of looking at "big pictures". By the way, ETS may be aptly represents "Environmental Trickery Scam"!

Feng Shui is more than mumbo-jumbo

Is Feng Shui just mumbo-jumbo? No, it deals with risk minimisation - health, accident preventation, good house design practice, environmental conservation, etc.

Unfortunately, the Earth is not a close system. The Sun is an external heat source and its radiated heat is causing net increase of heat energy on Earth. According to the theories of Thermodynamics, we have two possible solutions. One is to look up beyond the upper atmospheres and work out how heat exchanges between the Earth and the outer Space can be improved. This is the one and only platinum prize!

Another is to convert the heat energy to other form of stored energy – not just in the trees, but also in high carbohydrate content cereals. Carbohydrate is a carbon sink, capturing the carbon dioxide and can be consumed to sustain lives. This may or may not be a long term solution, but this definitely helps to solve another Earthly problem – starvation!

How to feed the hungry people and capture excessive carbon emission simultaneously

Posted to Sin Fong Chan's Facebook
I have been telling my students and colleagues that the solution to overcome excessive carbon emission and human hunger simultaneously is so so simple - grow more food plant with high carbohydrate content. Carbohydrate is for carbon capture, and the food for the hungry!

I hope at least one of them can make my vision realised.

Melting Ice - a Curse or a Clue?

Human's activities do contribute towards warming, including our daily active movements and breathing, but that is nothing compared with the billions of joules of heat energy "poured" in from the Sun. Are we going to stop the Sun from shining or imposing a hydrogen tax on the sun for combusting its hydrogen gas and emitting the intense heat?

If one assumes that there is a supreme being, then it is logical to think that the melting of the ice is to dilute the salinity of the sea water so that marine lives can survive in an optimal environment to provide rich food source for the humans. The melting ice also helps to cool down the temperature of the oceans which has been absorbing the Sun energy since the birth of the planet Earth!

Global warming or climate change as most people are referring to it, is a sign for us to take heed to combat the continuous injection of solar energy - use it or we shall be burnt to death one day!

Be more intuitive, and start thinking about cooling the Earth rather than just slowing down the warming process.
