No greenies ever protested the pollution caused by many thousands or millions of tonnes of toxic gases and pollutants being poured into the atmosphere by the explosion of fireworks, especially for new year's celebration. I am truly disgusted by the irrational human's behaviour that hundreds of millions of dollars burnt in just a few short minutes. This could have helped relief some human suffering such as hunger, accommodation and education. Sydney is spending more and more each year on fireworks display at Sydney Harbour Bridge for New Year's Eve celebration. Melbourne is doing likewise on a smaller budget but still in the millions.
